Frequently Asked Questions About Soccer & Football Goals

What materials are Strata Sports’ soccer goals made from?▼
Our institutional soccer goals are manufactured in New Zealand from high-grade nominal bore steel pipe (ranging from 40NB for intermediate frames up to heavy-duty 65NB pipe for regulation competition setups). They are supplied in a galvanised finish or finished with an all-weather white powder-coated layer over the galvanising. We also supply premier elite tournament configurations made from high-strength aluminium tubes featuring integrated extruded net tracks.
What is the official size for regulation full size soccer goals in NZ?▼
Our Club, Competition and International Freestanding Soccer Goals are built to official senior regulation dimensions: 7.32m wide by 2.44m high. For younger player development, primary schools, and intermediate fields, we supply specialized 4m wide by 2m high intermediate goals, alongside 3m x 2m and also compact 2m x 1m aluminium pop-up goals for junior training clinics.
What is the benefit of a freestanding football goal setup?▼
Freestanding football goals feature a rigid, self-supporting frame that provides excellent stability on both natural grass and artificial turf pitches without requiring permanent ground sockets. This allows groundskeepers and club coaches to move the goals across the park. This mobility helps distribute field wear and tear, effectively protecting the high-use goal-mouth turf during the winter sports season.
Do you supply combined rugby and soccer goal posts?▼
Yes. Our New Zealand-manufactured combination soccer and rugby goals are perfect for multi-sport school fields and council grounds with space limitations. These dual-purpose structures feature a full regulation soccer frame at the base integrated with standard regulation width rugby upright extensions above the crossbar, available in 5.2m junior and 5.6m heavy-duty senior sizes.
Do you provide installation instructions and local Auckland assembly?▼
Yes. Every ground-socketed combination system or heavy fixed goal we supply can include detailed installation layout instructions, covering precise excavation parameters and concrete footing guides for local contractors. Furthermore, Strata Sports provides a turnkey, hands-on assembly and installation service across the greater Auckland area.
How does shipping work for bulky football goal orders in NZ?▼
Because commercial steel and aluminium goal posts are large, heavy, and high-volume items, they cannot be transported via low-cost standard parcel couriers. To keep shipping costs as low as possible, we calculate specialized commercial freight manually for every destination. Simply add your required goals to your online quote request, and our team will issue an accurate real-time transit quote to your site promptly.
